Our take
After using the Breville BBM800XL for a few weeks, I'm impressed by its versatility. The 13 programs cover everything from basic white to gluten-free, and the rapid bake option is a time-saver. I particularly like the raisin/nut dispenser that automatically adds mix-ins at the right moment. The crust control gives me consistent results, and the keep-warm feature is handy. However, the 2 lb loaf size might be limiting for larger families, and the machine is quite heavy at nearly 17 lbs. Also, while the LCD display is clear, navigating the settings can be slightly confusing at first. Overall, it's a solid, well-built machine for serious home bakers.
